Self-Issued Grace

I have adopted the disclaimer to my drive, that “the person I was yesterday is my only competition”. High expectations and internal motivation has typically been my recipe for goal achievement.

My greatest challenge recently included giving myself permission to not achieve goals and tell myself no! I wanted my inhalation to be rooted from a strongly founded exhalation.  I realized that I am not just pushing myself to the limit, but often past the limit. Grace was extended to relax my standards and just be. In this time, I was expected to restore and let my health be a lifestyle, not just a box to check off or another ring to close.

Is there a task or behavior that you can allow yourself to be “excused from the table”? It certainly will not change your character. Just know the reward will produce an enhanced YOU, filling yourself with kindness. Affirm that you ARE giving (it) your best! This best includes compassion and peace.

So, will you join me to give ourself permission to exhale and grace to enjoy it?

I win when I lose.

One of my girlfriends, her name is Monique, is super intelligent!! She and I play several word game through our smartphone apps. I always lose big time on all of the word games, but I always choose to rematch her after every defeat. I  have found myself wondering if she thinks im crazy or if I'm that little annoying sister that can't get enough!

As I am thinking, I'm not even sure if I expect to win the game! The benefit I'm getting out of playing her each time is obtaining greater confidence as I am trying my best. Even more, I am watching the choices of words that she uses and her strategy in winning.

In life, I am learning to focus not just on completion in achievement, but I am learning with each play to be a better player, to be a wiser player, and to study my opponent and their successes. If we focus on winning as a sign or badge of honor, we miss the true lesson and victory.

Now, I look forward to playing games with Monique! I look forward to what she is going to teach me about herself, and most importantly about myself! I don't ignore or prolong the game! I don't choose easier components so that I can feel good about myself and self inflate my ego!

In reflection, I realize that I even refer other people to play her! I want them to be iron sharpened by iron as well! At some point, we must grow from avoiding challenges to facing them in confidence! Will you be able to get to the point that you welcome challenges? Or that you are not intimidated by a challenge or do not become weary with anticipatory grief when a challenge is on the horizon?

Actually, I have several word games going on with her at different times. We must embrace challenges, so that we becomes opponents. Thank You Monique for being a friend that is not afraid to challenge me and allows me to continue to grow!

Quite Frankly

-->

A piece of peace
Is all I need to sustain me in this moment.

Tomorrow doesn't matter
Yesterday doesn't count,
I have clarity from what I have gathered.
But why would he hasten to me
Seems like a waste to me
Was this supposed to be part of my destiny?

I can not speak of my dreams revelation
My hearts' turbulation
My desires' manifestation
Or any other –ation

I will hold my tongue
Until kingdom comes
As I resist the chance to have a piece of peace.

Reality blog

What happens when reality is waiting in the car for you to return from your worship services? Do your notes just self-destruct? Does your worship evaporate into the heavenlies with only foggy remnants remaining? It seems like reality is waiting, its foot holding the door ajar, in confidence of its spiritual amnesia symptomatic abilities.

We already know that His Word Promises that the enemy comes immediately to steal our seed (Matt 13:19)! Maybe the connection of hearing and fully receiving its truth is tested in the times. Just like a child tests limits, reality is testing your faith. Reality knows who has the up per hand, but will make all attempts to capture your thoughts and minimize the Power of the Word.

Reality can be changed. Yours is waiting to be changed!

Encourage yourself.

the pwr 2 encourage urself isnt really deep w/n. its actually the constant replaying of superficial positive reminders that ignite the soul.

think live, speak life, live life.

If.

If I had never fallen. If I had never bumped my head. Never made a wrong turn. I would never know how gently, wonderfully, perfectly and masterfully He could touch, speak, heal, restore and uplift.

To My only Brother.

You have abilities and potential that is to be released. Now more concern with how/where/when. The flood gates are being opened with opportunities for you. We all have made crazy decisions that can block and become barriers, but they are opportunities for God's glory to be immensely magnified. Don't look for a "break", expect God to move and walk out your faith in confidence that He will keep His promise! Think like, Speak life, Live Life!
